Today we will be discussing supervised visitation.
Supervised Visitation Centers
Sometimes you may have to have supervised visitation to monitor your access. One of the options you may have available to you is using a supervised visitation center. There are several centers throughout Maryland that you may want to consider. These centers may be court ordered or you may personally choose to have them monitor your supervised access. They will track incoming and outgoing time and provide you with a neutral third party to monitor your visits.
Friend or Family Member
If cost may be an issue or you may feel uncomfortable having your children monitored at a center, you may want to consider having a friend or family member monitor your visits. This option is comfortable for a lot of people for a lot of reasons. You can have those visits at your home or your family’s home or even the home of your co-parent. Wherever you and the children feel comfortable, you have those as options they’re not necessarily available as options if you go through the center.
Neutral Third Party
If for some reason you don’t want to include your friends and family or you also don’t want to use a center, you can hire a third party to watch your children. This type of person is typically called a neutral third party or a visitation monitor. These monitors can do all the same things that a friend or family member would do but typically until you’ve gained a rapport you may want to have your access at a mall or a chuck e cheese a McDonald’s a Chick-Fil-A or a park. Wherever you feel comfortable until you’ve kind of gained a relationship with the monitor.
